Supply List for Beginners
You'll need an album. Albums usually come with white inserts, but you'll probably want a variety of colors and perhaps patterns. There are two ways to scrap, either directly on the white paper, or directly onto other paper that you slip into the page protectors.
You'll probably want some neat patterned paper and some nice solid colors. I use mine as backing/mats for photos and journaling. I do not scrap directly onto the white inserts in my album, I mostly use solid cardstock as my foundation paper.
A nice set of pens is always a good idea, at least *one* good pen is required, but a variety of colors is always nice. Beware, if you use vellum at all, some pens don't work so well on it. The Vellum Writers we carry were designed to work directly on vellum.
You'll need some kind of adhesive to stick things to your pages. There are a lot of options - everyone here at The Scrap Stop uses either Tombow Mono or The Dotto.
You'll need a good pair of scissors, ruler and likely a cutting system.
I think that's all that is really "required". I myself enjoy things
like stickers
and die cuts to add to a page, and I really enjoy eyelets and bradstoo. Some people prefer a more simple approach, just nicely mounted photos and some journaling - to each their own! Its fun to figure out YOUR style and run with it. I would really recommend that you check out some of the books, magazines and layout websites to get a feel for your own personal style.
